A comprehensive insight reflecting the independently mounted exhibitions, Tragedy Plus Time: I Laughed, I Cried, I Split My Side, which explored the tragicomic impulse in contemporary art.

Published in partnership with the Dunlop Art Gallery in Regina and AKA artist-run in Saskatoon, this catalogue looks to document the summer 2014 exhibitions that brought together Canadian and international emerging and senior artists from across artistic disciplines. Tragedy Plus Time explores the political dimensions of comedy in art while I Laughed explores the interstices of humour and horror.

Tragedy Plus Time features full-colour installation images of both exhibitions, as well as two critical essays by the exhibition curators and a speculative essay on the tragicomic impulse in art practice.

Artists featured in the publication include Sonny Assu, Kyle Beal, BGL, Michel de Broin, Jason Cawood, Mark Clintberg, Troy Coulterman, Robyn Cumming, Thirza Cuthand, Keren Cytter, Kim Dorland, Emily Vey Duke and Cooper Battersby, Erica Eyres, Hannah Jickling and Helen Reed, Alison SM Kobayashi and Christopher Allen, Divya Mehra, Christine Negus, Shanell Papp, Craig Francis Power, Joshua and Zakary Sandler, and Walter Scott.
